So he makes sure to shout orders to nonexistent back-up at top of his lungs, trying to overcome the gunfire. Backup Bluff: When the Holnists are encircling the unit of Willamette Army Gordon is commanding, he realizes their only chance is in pretending there are more of them.They generally don't murder their superiors by treachery or stealth, since that wouldn't prove who was 'better'.
